The 2010 club AGM will be held on Monday 15th February at the President’s house – 12 Spensley Street Clifton Hill. Free dinner and beer will be provided and I promise to keep the meeting to  under 45 minutes! Nominations for committee positions are now being sought.

Did you know that there’s a committee of hard-working MFR club members working on your behalf for the development and running of the club? We have a President (me), a treasurer (Nicola), and a secretary (Torgeir… sort of).  Founding Club President Bruce Arthur is of course always working behind the scenes for the club also, as well as being Vice president of the VOA. And did you know that these 4 people (plus a couple of others) have been doing this (plus organising most events) for the whole 10 years of the club’s existence? It’s time for us to take a break and make way for a brand new committee, full of energy and enthusiasm, who want to take the club forward into the future, just like the founding members did 10 years ago. This could be your big chance; it’s great experience and Bruce, Nicola and myself will be right behind you for as long as it takes. And it doesn’t take a lot of commitment. Yes, I know we’re all extremely busy and “couldn’t possibly fit it in”– jobs, study, kids, etc - but Bruce has 3 little kids, Nicola has 2 teenagers and I work 50 – 60 hours a week as an associate at a large architectural firm: it can be done. So, if you’d like to nominate yourself or someone else for any of the committee positions then let me know before the AGM.
